What is your passion?

Okay, I've been looking for a text about someone describing their passion so I can give it as a reading exams to my students, but I can't find anything I like. Would you please write a paragraph describing your passion, what you like about it, how did you start or discover it, who showed it to you, etc....

Don't worry about spelling, I'll correct. Thanks to all those who will participate. The more the better.
This is work, don't waste my time. Paragraphs please, no 3 words.

My passions lies in the Language Arts. You could say it has made me a VERBARIAN.

I love to read, and write. It is a means of expression and I love to express myself. My passions are life long and it started ever since I was a little toddler with my “Speak N’ Spell” and my creative writings in crayons on the living room walls. I got a spanking for that one, but even so, if I could not do it with crayons, an idle pen on my father’s oak desk soon found busy work on the walls of the Den. Little baby Red, was confined to a play pen after that. I grew up, weaned on Dr.Seuss, Jan and Stan Berenstain, and beginner’s books like Go Dogs Go! and my all time favorite “Are you my mother?” by P.D. Eastman . My parents and grandparents would read to me everynight before bedtime and in school, English teachers are always my favorite teachers, since they were funny, witty, compassionate and always challenge me to read more books from different authors, and write essays and paragraphs. 😉

I am currently majoring in English at UCLA. I am there today, thanks to these passions, for it has allowed me to express myself vocally, verbally and in silence on a piece of paper. My emancipation of expressions and the fuel for my passions come from the many words and written works of great sages like Shel Silverstein, Roald Dahl, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Emily Bronte, William Shakespeare, Robert L. Stevenson, Thomas Moore, Jane Austin, JRR Tolkien, Thomas Harris, Stephen King, Robert Ludlum, J.K. Rowling and Ayn Rand to name a few.

Reading is entering into a special relationship with language. Writing is the expression of that special relationship. I hope that on cold rainy days, you will curl up with a good book or put a lonely pencil or pen to good use and be taken to caves filled with wonder and creamy snow covered mountian peaks, where the hills and pastures are green, and the sound of the wind as it rustle between the blades of grass can be heard, all under a clear blue sky and warm rays of the sun. Your imagination and creative thoughts are the only limits -- no director’s cut, no Hollywood special effects, and no one else's passion, but your own.
