If you are ready to add harmony and enable the flow of positive Chi in your home or office, consider hiring a professional Feng Shui Consultant. They make it easier to get the process of "Feng Shuing" your environment started than doing it yourself.

Sure, if you had the time to thoroughly research and figure out the various schools of thought, you could probably do it yourself. But if you can't be bothered or if you are afraid to make a mistake, go with a professional.

Because there are few official Feng Shui qualifications or certifications per se, you have to do a little due diligence when choosing a consultant. Start by asking for referrals. Then when you are down to the best few candidates, here are 5 questions to ask them. But keep in mind that just because someone does not have a certification, does not mean that they do not know what they are talking about.

  1. What Feng Shui society are you a member of and want training programs did you complete? Ideally, you want someone with accreditation or certification. Some consultants have gone through training programs through a particular school while others may have self-guided hands-on experience. Both scenarios are okay. Someone with practical experience rather than more focused training through a program can still understand and help you with the practice.
  2. How long have you been practicing? As a follow-on to question one, you want to learn if the consultant has any practical experience with clients.
  3. Do you specialize in the design of particular spaces like homes, offices, hotels, clinics, schools or even automobiles?
  4. Which school of Feng Shui thought do you practice the most? There is no right or wrong answers with this one. The question just offer up a better understanding on how they think.
  5. What are your rates and do you provide any type of written report which outlines and maps your entire home using Feng Shui terms?

Now that you know the key questions to ask your Feng Shui design consultant, the next step is to give them an idea of the style that you have in mind for your home. For design and style tips, visit http://www.fengshuimirror.com where Christine Tran shares her practical Feng Shui guide.
